William P. Lane Jr age 80 of Largo Florida formerly Inverness, Florida passed away quietly on July 23, 2024. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee to William P. Lane and Nell Lane. He served in the United States Air Force from October 27,1966 through October 26, 1972. He was stationed at Robins Air Force Base, Warner Robins, Georgia. He worked at Pinellas County Schools as a Supervisor of Transportation Services until he retired in 2005.

He is survived by his spouse of 26 years, Lucinda (Cindy) Lane of Largo Florida, son, Brian Lane (Jeanne) of Seminole, Florida, stepdaughters, Deborah Stephenson (Robert) of Minneola, Florida, Christine Constance (Terry) of Wolverine Lake, Michigan, Patricia Guerin (Shawn) of Seminole, Florida and his sister Susan Lane (Ron) of Land O’ Lakes, Florida

He was also affectionately known as Bill, dad and Papa. He also leaves behind his 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren that he absolutely adored.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Terri.

Throughout life he enjoyed fishing, sailing, hunting, kayaking, traveling with his wife, spending time with his family and fiercely loving Jesus.

A brief memorial service at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 1000 Bay Pines BLVD North St, St. Petersburg, Florida is scheduled for August 16th, 2024, at 2:30pm in the afternoon.

Please join us for a small gathering at 12100 Seminole Blvd. Club House immediately after the service.

Bill was the best. He always helped others and had a vast variety of interests. He was a great conversationalist, whether discussing issues or telling stories. I will miss him, his humor, and his humanity.
