This news was very sad and shocking to hear. I’ve been fortunate to know Joe, Victor and Francis – meeting all 3 of them at different stages in life, and I’m proud to know all three and consider them friends.
I actually met and hung out with Victor my first weekend I moved to Tallahassee (I think he was visitng). And somehow it never came up where we were both from or that I’d already been friends with Joe for 2 years! But that didn’t matter… Victor just had that kind of welcoming friendly energy you wanted to be around!
I’ve not had the pleasure of meeting Victor’s mom or daughter… but as you’ll probably hear a lot, he definitely leaves a lasting legacy and fond memories with everyone you’ll meet.
Victor’s warm, genuine smile and and the time we shared will live on with me – especially every time I see Joe and Francis, or whenever I’m cheering on FSU! GO NOLES!

Sending your entire family my deepest condolences, praying for you all 🤍 That handsome picture was taken from my wedding where Victor Chete was one of Derek’s groomsmen ❣️ He was uncle Victor to our girls and our dog he always claimed to be his lol she’s a chocolate tan dapple color dachshund and she looks like His beloved FSU mascot Renegade 🐴 . He grew up with Derek playing little league and went to school together. He grabbed the hearts of my entire family as well . We love and will miss victor immensely ❣️💔 🕊️

Words can’t express how many lives Victor has touched over the years. I’ve had the joy of knowing Victor and his family for 35+ years as I met victor for the first time around the age of 7 years old at Sacred Heart Catholic school, was one of my closest friends growing up, he also worked with me in the air conditioning business for several years, no matter what he was going through in his personal life he always remained optimistic on his goals, big heart, always joking and smiling is how we should remember “V-Chete”. My condolences to his brothers and family members, especially Ms. Chete, hold your head up proudly in these difficult times as you went way beyond being a great mother to Victor and he will surely be missed by us all. Rest in peace my friend!!
