It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of an extraordinary man.

Thomas (Tom) Michael Grimsley set sail on his final voyage Friday, January 24th, 2025, at the age of 61 years young. He was born on September 14th, 1963, to William Robert Grimsley & Margaret Ann Mote in Lincoln, Illinois.

Tom was a devout husband and proud father to Ian Grimsley, Danny Grimsley and bonus father to Karli Benson and Rachel Van Der Meulen. He was also best friend with his Grandson, Perseus Benson.

He served in the U.S. Army for 10 Years and during his time was awarded an Army Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Driver and Mechanic Badge, Sharpshooter Marksmanship Badge Rifle, M-16.

In 2010 Tom met his surviving Wife, Randi Sue [Silber] Grimsley at Terrace Sports bowling alley. For the next 10 years they bowled together in a league. They were together for 15 and married for 13 wonderful years and will have all of eternity together.

What a wonderful man!

My husband and I were blessed to have known him through Crystal Lake. He was hardworking and dedicated to his position there, and did it well.

He will be missed.
