Ron Rush, 64, of Gulfport passed away on June 22, 2025.
Born September 21, 1960 in Connersville, Indiana, he was raised between there and Gulfport, FL but chose Florida as his permanent home to be close to the water.
Ron enjoyed fishing, boating, classic rock, racing classic muscle cars, and lived life to the fullest.
He was a good man who loved his family and friends deeply. Ron was the kind of guy that you call when you need a hand and he was always there, no matter what.
He was pre-deceased by his loving parents Oscar and Juanita Rush.
Ron is survived by his wife Susan Rush, daughters April Rush and Melissa (Garrett) Winebarger, grandson Declan Winebarger and many wonderful friends.
He will be forever loved and missed by his adoring family.

Ron…. This is your redhead girl Cindy. The one that flirted and teased with you on the front pew of the church.
We instantly connected after that.
I loved the way you loved my cousin Susan which made me love you even more.
Never was blessed with a boat ride
I will miss you dearly
Thank you for everything you have done for me.

Sue, Melissa, April, Declan and Garett my heart aches for the loss of a wonderful person, Husband, Father, brother, grandfather and friend. Ron’s memory will be one that always puts a smile on my face. He was thoughtful, caring and knowledgeable man who could never say no when we would ask for help. He loved the water and we will forever think of him when we are out there seeing the 🐬 dolphins and sea life. He is pain-free now and in God’s hands. We will miss him so very much and we will do our best to fill in when it comes to those he loved getting them out on the boat etc we love you sue and kids and our hearts are at peace for Ron because he walks with Jesus. Sue we love you very much and will do all we can to help and support you. In Jesus’s name we are sisters and brothers in Christ. Peace

When our brother Bill suddenly passed ( who was Ron’s neighbor) 10 years ago this month we went to have breakfast close by and Sue and Ron came in. I did not know them real well at that time but I knew my brother loved them and a special comfort came over me. Then when we went to pay our Bill they already paid it! I never forgot that act of kindness so long ago. Now with my sister and brother in law living there and doing things with them all the time we became like family. Sue your pain is our pain! We share a strong faith in Jesus and we know where he is. Safe in the arms of GOD. My thoughts and prayers will be with Sue and his family as we move forward in the days ahead. May our Heavenly Father shed HIS BEAUTIFUL LIGHT OF EXTRA LOVE AND PEACE over his family. May His arms hold Sue and his children so gentle yet so lovingly that our God’s peace fills their tender hearts. May the love of JESUS fill their hearts with moments of remembrance that brings joy to their souls. We love you Ron! God bless you Sue and family. 🙏🕊️✝️♥️
