Margaret “Peggy” Kunda, born September 24, 1932, in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024, at the age of 92. Peggy was a woman of profound kindness, a welcoming smile, and an unmatched ability to connect with people. She left a legacy of love, understanding, and cherished relationships that will endure through her family and friends.

Peggy proudly served her country in the United States Air Force, a role that demonstrated her strength and dedication. Her service was a cornerstone of her life and a source of immense pride for her and her family.

In addition to her service to her country, Peggy dedicated 30 years to the city of Pinellas Park as a member of the Planning and Zoning Committee. Her work shaped the city’s growth and development in meaningful ways, and her passion for preserving its history led her to help establish the Pinellas Park Historical Society. Always active in her community, she also volunteered with the Pinellas Park Police Department, offering her time and energy to improve the lives of others.

As a devoted mother to her son, Steven Polley, and her daughter, Linda Kurdi, Peggy nurtured her family with love and wisdom. She was also a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Peggy had a unique and special bond with each family member, making everyone feel seen, heard, and deeply loved. Her relationships were built on her ability to truly listen, her genuine care, and her knack for making others feel valued.

Peggy’s love for nature was evident in her beautifully tended garden, where she spent countless hours surrounded by flowers and her cherished pets. She had a playful spirit, inventing funny, whimsical words that became family favorites and a lasting reminder of her sense of humor.

Easy to talk to and deeply empathetic, Peggy had an extraordinary way of making others feel at ease. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and laughter, where everyone felt welcomed and cared for.

Though Peggy is no longer with us, her legacy of kindness, humor, and the unique relationships she built will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will also be remembered as a pillar of her community, whose dedication and hard work made Pinellas Park a better place for all. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a woman who made everyone feel special and loved.
