Nancy Planta

April 09, 1948~December 15, 2023

Nancy M. Planta 75, of St. Petersburg, passed away on December 15, 2023.

Nancy was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland where she helped raise her younger brother Michael, making meals for him, keeping the house tidy, and babysitting.  She had an immense love for her family and friends, often showing that love through her cooking, especially during holiday dinners with the family.  Nancy was known for always helping everyone and offering great advice.  She also had an uncanny knack for predicting the future.

She cherished every moment with her daughter Lisa, grandkids Connor and Ethan, her brother Michael, and her nephews Tommy and Derrick.

Some of her most unforgettable experiences were the birth of her daughter Lisa, marrying her husband Ralph, the birth of her grandkids Connor and Ethan, buying her first car, and home, without help, and being the proud caretaker of grandma’s spaghetti pot.

Nancy was instrumental in starting up and running her family’s trucking business.  She was a Candy Striper earlier in life and an auxiliary member of the Am Vets.  She also enjoyed watching all the NCIS and Chicago Blue TV series and loved listening to music.  Some of her favorite music artists were The Supremes, Franky Valley, Cody Johnson, The Andrew Sisters, and many others, including Boosie and Walker Hayes.  She was also a huge Rays fan.  Her hobbies included embroidery and sewing.

Nancy enjoyed humor and loved making people laugh.  She’d whisper a sarcastic comment to someone, making sure the other person could hear her, making everyone laugh.  Her favorite phrase was, “What the hell?” and she was a firm believer that Vick’s VapoRub fixed everything, that driving though cornfields was a great time, and that her bra was the perfect place to store her teeth, and just about everything else.

She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
