With her one and only true love at her side, Melodie Ann Crowley passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer on Saturday, August 27th, 2022. She just celebrated her 73rd birthday with her family in St Petersburg, FL. Melodie was the true matriarch, filling countless roles as a devoted wife, loved sister, adored mother, and amazing grandmother.
Melodie was born on August 11th, 1949, to Harry and Vivian Robbins in Baltimore City, Maryland. Melodie was one-of-a-kind, fiercely loyal, strong yet sweet, and a straight shooter. She loved dogs, and arts & crafts. Her life was her family and she was always there for everyone she loved. She was the person that could offer unconditional love and support.
Melodie met her husband, Dennis Crowley, when they were twenty-one years old and they quickly fell in love. In the beginning of their love story, Melodie and Dennis endured a long-distance relationship due to the military where they wrote love letters every day for a year.
Settling in, Melodie became a devoted Air Force wife, showing her strength raising three children relocating many times to support her family. Throughout their 52-year long marriage, Dennis and Melodie embraced all of life’s joys and challenges. Making St. Petersburg their final destination, Melodie worked for the Tampa MEPS and Railroad Retirement Board for twenty-one years before enjoying retirement with her husband.
There is a void left in the hearts of her surviving husband of 52 years, Dennis Crowley; sister, Sharon Pruitt, (husband, Dan); Children, Dennis Crowley Jr., (wife, Christine), Denise Hanson, (husband, Howie), Douglas Crowley, (wife, Teresa); Grandchildren, Tamie, (partner, Brittany), Dylan, Haley, Howell, Hannah, Heath, LouAnn, and Douglas; Great grandchildren, Connor, and Jackson.
The family plans a life celebration at a later date.
