Mary (Mae) Frances Scaramuzzi, 94, peacefully passed away on October 1st, 2023, at her home in Palm
Harbor, Florida, surrounded by her family.

Born December 7th, 1928, in Washington D.C. to Anthony Dols and Mary Lorenzo-Dols. Mary had an older
brother, Paul Anthony Dols. She loved and admired her older brother. Mary Lorenzo-Dols preceded her in
death and Mary became a devoted daughter and confidant to her father, Anthony Dols who was a
celebrated executive chef from Puerto Rico, DC to Bedford, PA and New York.

Mae, as she was affectionately known, grew up in Puerto Rico, Staten Island, NY and graduated from
Tottenville High School, Staten Island, NY. It was there where she met and married Louis Francis
Scaramuzzi. They went on to have one child, Louis-Anthony Scaramuzzi. Shortly after Louis was born, they
moved to Key West, Florida, where they lived for over 40 years. Mae and Louis shared 59 years of marriage
together. Louis F. Scaramuzzi preceded her in death on August 2nd, 2015.

Mae dedicated her life to service. She worked in the Federal Government in Washington DC and retired
after over twenty years of service with distinguished awards from Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. She
loved entertaining, great food, a good laugh and spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are Son, Louis Anthony Scaramuzzi, Daughter in-law, Cristina Louise
Scaramuzzi, Grandchildren, Joel Cameron Scaramuzzi, and Isabelle Grace Scaramuzzi; Jerry Scaramuzzi and
Rachel Scaramuzzi of Staten Island, NY, Brother in Law and wife. Many nieces and nephews… Shirley Marie
Dols-Petreye, David R. Petreye, Paul Anthony. Dols, Victoria Dols, Michelle Renee Dols-Harder’s, Brian K.
Harder’s, John Edman Dols, Laura Frances Rosales and Richard Rosales. The children she loved and called
her own. Also, many dear nieces and nephews from Staten Island, Orlando to Marco Island and close family
in Tampa; Tom and Paula Leonard, Chuck and Marci Leonard and Joel and Tara Leonard.

A celebration of life service will be planned for the near future in Key West, Florida. The island she loved. If
so inclined and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay in memory

Mae lived a beautiful life and her beautiful smile will be missed. Rest in love and dance again with Papa

Tears of sorrow I cry for the loss of this wonderful woman …Tears of laughter out way with so many memories of such fabulous times spent in her company !
A life well spent and I am so glad to have been able to share time in her company . Very blessed we’re all of us who knew her .

I am so proud to have worked with Ms Mae Frances. We worked together at First Federal Savings and Loan in Key West Florida. She was such a sweet caring and funny lady. May she rest in peace. My condolences to the family.
