Martin Wayne Lewis, aged 72, passed away peacefully on September 6th, 2024, in Pinellas Park, Florida. He was born on July 12, 1952, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late John Martin Lewis and the late Helen Joyce Passarge.
He was a graduate of Woodward High School, Cincinnati State Technical College, and Indiana Wesleyan University. He married Beverly Jean O’Connell on December 28, 1974, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He worked as a Technical Operations Manager for the Indiana Wesleyan University television station. Marty was very involved in the technical arts and music ministries at the churches he attended throughout his lifetime.
Most recently, he volunteered with the Tech Arts team at Park Place Church in Pinellas Park, Florida. Marty lit up any room he entered, and he never met a stranger. He was a prolific poet and enjoyed song writing. He spoke in song lyrics and movie quotes. He was an expert at silly voices and singing silly songs. He was a teacher at heart and loved to explain to you how something worked.
He was humble, genuine and made everyone feel important. He never took credit for his accomplishments but gave all the credit and glory to God. God and his family were most important to him.
He is survived by his wife, Bev Lewis; daughter, Wendi Squier (Matt); daughter, Joy Grimaldo (Moses); younger sister, Phyllis Lewis; grandchildren, Brandon Lewis (Heather), Jerimiah Squier, Genevieve Squier, John Squier, Gabriel Grimaldo, Jaylynn Squier, Karys Grimaldo, Noemi Grimaldo; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to Park Place Church, 4400 70th Avenue N., Pinellas Park, Florida at 2:00 pm on September 21, 2024, to reminisce and honor Marty’s life.

Marty was a really special guy. He helped teach me to play guitar when we played together at Eastview. He fostered my love for worship music and song writing. Very inspirational. I will never forget him.
