With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved child, Lisette “Lisa” Melendez, who was taken from us too soon on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at the tender age of 52. She was born on November 1,1971 in Manhattan, NY. Lisa graduated from Dixie Hollins High School in 1990.
She is survived by her parents, Bob and Gloria Melendez, her son, Christopher Rodriguez and her brother, Roberto Melendez Jr. (Cynthia) and her nephew, Jayden Melendez.
Lisa brought immeasurable joy and light into our lives with her kind heart and radiant smile. She worked for Winn Dixie for 35 years, her coworkers and customers loved her dearly. She loved spending time with her family and playing games together. She is known for her long nails, shopping, and being a dear friend to anyone who knew her. Lisa loved her son, Christopher, “to the moon and back”. Everything she was, will live on through him.
Though her time with us was brief, the depth of love and happiness she shared will forever remain in our hearts. She always brought so much light and joy to any room she entered, especially with that beautiful, beautiful smile of hers (it was!). Our world lost one shining ray of light.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Linda Melendez, who was graciously waiting for her. Two sisters, two best friends, reunited once more.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 starting at 10:00am located at 3180 30th Ave North, St. Petersburg, FL 33713 (Sorensen Funeral Home).
Funeral service will start at 11:30am.
Immediately following, we will be going to Calvary Catholic Cemetery – 5233 118th Ave North, Clearwater, FL 33760

Still can’t wrap my head around you being gone. You were a true friend to those that loved you. You made it so easy , no expectations and always real . I will forever miss you , some are just harder to get through than others and this is one of them . I know Linda was standing there with outstretched arms taking you in for the biggest hug . Rest easy my friend , watch over us all and drop a feather now and then ❤️

Oh Lisa my friend, funny how we’d always see each other after the Christmas Parade walking back home. Last time was sadly two year’s ago, when I finally meet your handsome son Christopher. I’ll never forget your smile. I can only imagine what you and Linda have been doing up in Heaven. Two beautiful Angel’s.

It’s hard to believe that such a bright light has been dimmed. I knew Lisa for over 30 years. Met her at Winn Dixie and we quickly became friends. She was always there with a hug, her beautiful smile and those nails (that she would occasionally tap on the counter…lol). You could always see the love she had for her son when she spoke of him. Always sharing about her loving parents and how proud she was of Christopher. It’s going to be hard walking into that store without looking for her. Lisa will truly be missed. May she soar high with the angels and watch over those who loved her. Many prayers, condolences and hugs to her family and friends.

I think Lisa loved everyone, when shopping I always looked forward to seeing her and getting one of her warm hugs, even when she wasn’t feeling well, she never said anything, she just smiled that beautiful smile of hers, she was an amazing, kind, beautiful woman, who will be so missed by everyone who knew her, we would talk about Christopher and her eyes would just light up, she loved him so very much, such an amazing mom. Sending prayers for strength, and healing during this heartbreaking time for Christopher, and all her family, another angel, gone way too soon. 🙏❤️🙏
