Joel Mitchell Frye, of St. Petersburg, passed away May 18, 2023 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born April 7, 1958, in Syracuse, New York and was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Loved by many. Joel loved music, sports, and his family, and he will be remembered by his words of wisdom.

Dear Debbie & Family,
So sorry to hear of Joel’s passing. I will always treasure the memories of our growing up in East Syracuse. The bond of sports, music, and the enlightenment of parody in the form of the latest MAD magazine always take the forefront when thinking of Joel! He was a great musician, an even better wordsmith, and a inspirational friend. Heaven will now be much more cerebral and entertaining, with the addition of Its latest resident!

Joel was my first boyfriend at age 12 and when my family moved away we lost touch and many many years later we reconnected and the spark was still there. We married in 2006 and have been so happy for many years. He was my heart and soul i will miss him so very much that words can’t explain. We traveled a lot and our honeymoon was a cruise. Which i had never been on and it was the best . I loved him beary beary much as we would say to each other every day
