Joanne Louise Watson, 91, a resident of the Springwood II Community in Pinellas Park, FL, passed away June 18th, 2025, at the Suncoast Hospice Mid-Pinellas Care Center in Pinellas Park.
Born in Bellefonte, PA, she came to Florida in 1996 from State College, PA. Joanne was very proud of her career as a Human Resources Officer at Penn State University, where she worked until retiring to Florida. She was an avid Penn State Football fan and never missed a game. After moving to Florida, the Tampa Bay Lightning became another favorite team of hers. She loved attending then watching the games.
Joanne is survived by her son Timothy Watson of Pinellas Park, FL, her daughter Kimberly DeChellis of Isle of Palms, SC, her three grandchildren Casey McKeehan (Andrew), Erin DeChellis, and Lauren Buntz (Austin), and her three great-grandchildren Sophia McKeehan, Nathan McKeehan and Elliott Buntz.
She is pre-deceased by her parents Clara and Paul Corl, sister Ruth Kopell and brother Donald Corl.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Taylor Funeral Home, 5300 Park Blvd., Pinellas Park, FL 33781
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Joanne’s name to the His Heart Society, 7809 46th Way N., Pinellas Park, FL 33781.

I am sure gonna miss our little “outings “. And definitely gonna miss our texts (chats). I hope you guys find comfort in knowing just how much she meant to so many.
