Jennie Rizzo

November 22, 1960~August 19, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jennie Rizzo, who left us on August 19, 2024, at the age of 63, following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Born in Puerto Rico on November 22, 1960, to Jim and Mercedes Simmons, Jennie was a woman of remarkable strength, passion, and love. Her life was a testament to her unwavering determination, fierce competitiveness, and, above all, her deep commitment to her family. Whether facing life’s challenges or supporting those she loved, Jennie approached everything with a resilience and tenacity that inspired all who knew her.

She shared 44 wonderful years with her beloved husband, Jim Rizzo. Their marriage was a shining example of love, laughter, and mutual support. Together, they built a life rich in memories, filled with the warmth of family and the strength of their partnership.

As a mother, Jennie was the heart of her family. Her children, Krystal (DJ) Ausbrooks, Angela (Jason) Werner, and James (Kayla) Rizzo, were the center of her world. She nurtured them with love and wisdom, guiding them through life’s ups and downs with a steady hand and an open heart. Her influence on their lives is immeasurable, and her legacy will continue to shape their futures.

Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren— Jackson and Ayden Ausbrooks, Landon and Leo Werner, and Emilia Rizzo—showering them with love, encouragement, and the kind of wisdom that only a grandmother can impart. Her presence in their lives was a constant source of joy and comfort, and her spirit will continue to live on in their hearts.

In addition to her immediate family, Jennie is survived by her brother, Jim Simmons. Their bond was one of deep love and friendship, a connection that remained strong throughout their lives.

Jennie’s life was filled with love, strength, and an unwavering devotion to those she held dear. Though she has left this world, her spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

Family, friends, and others are invited to visitation and funeral service at Taylor Funeral Home 5300 Park Blvd, Pinellas Park, FL 33781, on August 22nd at 12pm to reminisce and honor the life of Jennie Rizzo.
