Janice Loretta Hess, 67 of South Pasadena, Florida passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on May 22, 2024, at Palms of Pasadena Hospital.
She was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, and moved here in 1990 from Palisades Park, NJ.
Janice was a cosmetologist, volunteered at the St. Petersburg Free Clinic, and enjoyed playing bingo and card games.
She is survived by her daughter Jenifer Lester, twin grandchildren Raine and Kevin Lester, brother Andrew Howey, nieces Janine Howey, Sarai Howey, and Teah Howey, nephews Andy Howey, Justin Howey, Christopher Howey, and Craig Howey.
Janice is pre-deceased in death by her loving husband Kenneth Hess, her parents Jack and Virginia Howey, sister Barbara Howey, and brothers Raymond Howey and Jack Howey.
Her daughter and grandchildren were her whole world, she loved them so much and would always do anything she could for them. She had a kind and generous spirit and will be greatly missed.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 22nd at 1:00 pm in Our Lady’s Chapel at the Cathedral of St. Jude. 5815 5th Ave N. St. Petersburg, FL 33710.

Janice was a wonderful woman with a heart of gold. I used to go and sit with her when I was having a bad day and she always made me laugh. She was/is loved by many and will be terribly missed !! Love you Jenny, Raine and. Kevin❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥲🥲🥲

Rest in peace sweet friend. So much time went by that we didn’t see each other, but I’ll never forget the good times we had when our kids were growing up. You always made me laugh, I loved that about you. We will never ever forget you. Give Kenny a hug from us. We love you, The Spitzer family❤️❤️❤️
