James Patrick DeRosa (Jim) 82 of Pinellas Park passed away on Monday June 16th, 2025.

James was born on December 31st, 1942, in Lima, OH and moved with his parents and siblings to St. Petersburg, FL in 1953. Jim attended Bishop Barry High School where he played football, graduating in 1961. He attended St. Pete Junior College and began working as a Commercial Refrigeration Technician with K-Way Distributing. Jim eventually owned his own company “Custom Beverage”, and finished his career as a Senior Service Manager, retiring from Coca-Cola USA.

He was predeceased by his parents, Paul DeRosa (1987), his mother Cathrine I, DeRosa (1995), and his brothers Paul J. DeRosa (1987) & Robert G. DeRosa (1993).

Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carole. His sons by his first marriage, Jimmy, David & Doug, four grandchildren, Laura, Austin, Travis and Dominic as well as 5 great grandchildren, Lennon, Llew, Sammy, Xander & Lainey.

An avid fisherman & scuba diver he spent much of his time either on the water with a fishing pole, or under it with a spear gun. When not on his boat, he was a Boy Scout leader for over 6 years, as well as a youth football coach for the Pinellas Park Thunderbirds for over 15 years, teaching the youngest players the game he loved.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday June 26th, 2025, 6:00 pm at Taylor Family Funeral Home, 5300 Park Blvd., Pinellas Park, FL 33781.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to your favorite charity in Jim’s name.
