September 06, 1950~August 27, 2024

Freddy Capriglione, of Largo, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the age of 73.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Robin Capriglione. Born on September 6, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, he was the son of Joseph A. Capriglione and Helen M. Lett. Freddy was a loving father to Greg Capriglione, Alicia Owens, and Jenise Roche. He is remembered fondly by his four sisters and three brothers, as well as his eight grandchildren and one great-grandson, with whom he loved to entertain.

A proud veteran, Freddy served in the Marine Corps’ 1st Marine Division, where he honorably held the position of military police officer. After his military service, he became a deputy in St. Louis before pursuing a career as a paramedic. In 2001, he moved to Clearwater, Florida, and later worked as a bank security guard. Known for his dedication, Freddy continued to work in home repair and remodeling construction until his retirement and beyond. Friends, family, and neighbors often benefited from his generosity, as he was always eager to lend a helping hand with any repairs or assistance they needed. Freddy couldn’t be stopped in his efforts to support those around him.

Freddy was an active member of the American Legion Post 119, serving in the Honor Guard for three years and briefly as the 2nd Vice Commander before transferring to American Legion Post 252.

A true social butterfly, Freddy had a warm and loving spirit, making friends wherever he went. He cherished his time at the beach, enjoyed watching sunsets and valued his time with his family. Freddy often enjoyed playing pool in which he won several trophies. It goes without saying that Freddy had a passion for singing and learning new songs, with favorites like “Hot Rod Lincoln,” “Some Gave All” by Billy Ray Cyrus, and Neil Diamond’s “Forever in Blue Jeans.” He could often be found at Karaoke where he loved serenading his wife, Robin, anytime and anyplace he could.  Freddy will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor and his love for storytelling, sharing jokes with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

An Honor Ceremony will take place at Bay Pines VA National Cemetery, attended by family.

Join us for a Celebration of Life to be held at American Legion Post 252 on Sunday, September 29, at 1:00 PM. Please come prepared to share a song that brings back memories of your time with Freddy.

Freddy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
