Carol E. Aldo 83 of Pinellas Park, FL passed away on May 27, 2025. She was born in Bayside Long Island, New York on November 3, 1941, to Paul and Margaret Edmunds.
Career Carol attended Salem State College in Clarksburg West Virginia and later acquired a degree in psychology from Westfield State College. Carol worked as a social worker for several decades at local social service agencies in the Manchester New Hampshire area. She enjoyed working with her clients and felt a sense of purpose.
Her primary focus throughout her life was being a good Catholic. She spent many years helping people through Separated and Divorced Catholics at local churches in Connecticut where she lived, she also was a frequent attendee of Catholic retreats, more recently she was a weekly church attendee for decades and later was very involved with Sacred Heart Church in Pinellas Park as a parishioner, a member of the Consolation Committee, a member of the Legion of Mary and member of the local Colombiettes Group (the Knights of Columbus’s women’s group). She was also a Eucharistic Minister.
Carol had two older sisters Nori and Margaret and a younger brother Paul Edmunds. She is survived by her children Debora June, Andrew Charles and Albert Francis and his children Isabella and Thomas. She has many nieces and nephews on the Cuddeback side of the family. She had a particular fondness for Kim and Jeff Cuddeback who were very kind and helpful to her in later years.
Carol was tomboy in her childhood and while playing with her younger brother Paul she broke his front tooth with a BB gun, it was an accident! While in high school she was often found practicing her modern dance routines. In her 20s and 30s she played tennis, worked in ceramics and painted in oils. She was an avid reader all her life. She also had an enormous collection of frogs that were gifts from clients, staff team members and friends and family. The house and yard of her last several residences were adorned with frogs of all shapes and sizes.
Emily, the oldest daughter of Nori, thought her aunt Carol quite glamorous, well dressed, and lots of fun. She was sophisticated and not from the wilds of northern NY. She made the journey all the way to Gouverneur, NY to attend my high school graduation party, and gave me a pretty gold Monet bangle that felt like the height of fashion at the time. I wore it happily many times, until the shine dimmed and the scratches were too obvious.
When Carol visited the Grout family in Northern New York there were always many siblings, nieces and nephews, family gatherings were always fun. She even introduced Gap jeans to her nieces!
