October 26, 1963~December 09, 2023

Basile CH Pertsas, 60, of Tampa, passed away on December 9, 2023 at Tampa General Hospital. He was born in Paterson, New Jersey to parents Charalambos Pertsas and Sylvia Johnson. Basile, also known as “Vasili”, “Bill”, or “The King”, was said to have lived the lives of four men.

As an entrepreneur, he used his business ventures to travel the globe. In his early 20s, he was primarily based in Los Angeles and Malibu where he worked in the fishing industry. One of his favorite memories in LA was when he and his friends turned a recording studio by day into a speakeasy at night. Basile worked extensively in the automotive and steel industry in his late 20s to early 30s; highlights include working with Dale Earnhardt Sr. and travelling to the Czech Republic where he would meet his future wife Marcela. He settled in Florida to stay close to immediate family while he raised his two daughters Samantha and Brittaney Pertsas with his wife. He continued to pursue various business ventures through the rest his life, always wanting to be his own boss. May his true grit and hard-working spirit live on through us.

He is survived by his wife, Marcela Pertsas; daughters, Samantha and Brittaney Pertsas; sister, Georgette Pertsas and mother Sylvia Johnson. The family will have a private memorial service, but feel free to contact Samantha (samanthapertsas@gmail.com) or Brittaney (brittaneypertsas@yahoo.com) if you wish to do something in Basile’s memory.

I only knew Bill for a couple of years. He was the type of man that I wanted to be around because he always had something going on. I enjoyed listening to his stories about his work and his relaxation. I am truly sorry that Bill is not around to teach us something. H was a good father, a great son, and my friend.
