Anne Drummond, 85, from Jay, Maine passed away May 27, 2025, at Suncoast Hospice in Pinellas Park, FL.
She was born in Great Yarmouth, England and in her youth enjoyed swimming, horseback riding, and worked as a weaver making the parachutes for the troops. She married US Air Force man Stephen Drummond on Sept 28, 1963. Together they moved to Waterville, Maine in 1964.
In 1973 they built their forever home in Jay, Maine. Anne was a devoted wife and mother. She loved to sew, bake, work in the garden, day trips to the Maine Coast, and especially enjoyed her Silver Sneakers gym class and friends.
No one was a stranger to Anne, for when she met you, she would always say, “I’m a hugger.” To her family she was known as Narnie and this was her greatest joy. With so much love and laughter, she made countless memories with her daughter and grandkids.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Stephen Drummond of Jay, Maine and daughter Julie Illes of Palmetto, FL, granddaughter Aniko Baisas and her husband Dominic Baisas, granddaughters Alexis Illes and Autumn Illes, grandson Maxwell Illes, and her new great granddaughter Brooklyn Baisas, all of St Petersburg, FL.
She was predeceased by mother Lillian Haylett and father Frederick James Hayden Haylett of Great Yarmouth England.

She was a very Special Aunt. She always greeted everyone with a warm smile. I have very fond memories of when I was a child of both she and my Uncle Stephen at my Grandmother’s houses. It was always a treat to see both of them . I am so sorry for your loss.
