Patricia A. Simonton

Patricia A. Simonton, 74, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away on February 2, 2026.

Pat was born in Dunkirk, New York, to Glenn and Gladys Lammers. When Pat was 11 years old, her mother passed away, and she went to live with her aunt and uncle, Ellie and Wendel Lilly. There, she shared a room with her cousin Karen and began the next chapter of her life surrounded by extended family.

Patricia was a strong-willed and spirited woman, known for her organizational skills, attention to detail, and determination to get things done. She loved her routines and lived by a quote from coach Vince Lombardi, whom she admired: “Winners never quit, and quitters never win.” These qualities served her well during her many years with Essilor, where she worked as an eyeglass manufacturer until her retirement.

One of Pat’s most endearing qualities was her deep love for others. She found great joy in sending cards — whether to wish someone well, celebrate a special occasion, or simply let them know she was thinking of them. She cherished the people in her life, especially her aunt Ellie and uncle Wendel; her brother-in-law Danny, who helped maintain her home, took her to doctor’s appointments, and cared for her beloved dogs; her thoughtful neighbors who checked in on her; and Mai, her hairstylist. She had a special way of making people feel remembered and appreciated.

Pat also had a lifelong love for dogs. She raised Pomeranians for most of her life, but in her later years, her faithful companions were Kelly, a shepherd mix, and Sandy, a chihuahua, who stayed by her side.

Family Thanksgivings, watching her cousins’ children grow up, attending banquets, mission conferences and youth activities at her uncle Wendel’s church, enjoying 60s and 70s music, and watching Gunsmoke and The Andy Griffith Show were among the simple pleasures that brought her great happiness throughout the years. Pat both gave and received abundant love, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Patricia is survived by her cousins Karen Craven and family, Kevin Lilly and family and Keith Lilly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 28^th, at Taylor Funeral Home, 5300 Park Blvd., Pinellas Park, FL 33781.
