It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we bid farewell to Michael Timothy Deetz who departed from this world surrounded by friends and family December 6th, 2024, at the age of 56.  He was born June 19th, 1968, in the sunny embrace of St Petersburg, Florida growing up under the loving care of his parents, Karen and John Deetz, who preceded him in death.

Michael was raised in the Catholic Church and attended Catholic school in his formative years, instilling in him a strong sense of faith and values that guided him throughout his life. An alumnus of Dixie Hollins High School, he graduated in 1986 and carried with him friendships and memories that he cherished through his life.

Michael’s life was one of dedication, love, and unwavering support for his family and friends. He was married to his beloved wife Allison on September 14, 2002, and together they created a loving home filled with laughter, support, and endless memories. As a father, Michael was truly exceptional. He poured his heart into his children. His daughters, Katie (spouse Caleb) and Marina, and his son, Matthew, all knew they were deeply loved and supported by a father who never missed an opportunity to be present in their lives. Michael’s legacy continued with his much-loved grandson, Sylis, who brought an extra sparkle to his eyes and a smile to his face. He cherished every moment spent with his family. He is also survived by his brother, Jimmy (and his wife, Kim); his sister, Theresa (and her wife, Lisa); and many lifelong friends, nieces, nephews and extended family members who will miss him dearly. Michael’s legacy will live on through all of them.

A man of great ambition, Michael was a self-employed business owner, founding Greater Bay Pools, which he successfully transformed into Above All Pools. His entrepreneurial spirit and hard work were a testament to his determination and love for his craft, as he built a successful business that served the community.

Michael’s vibrant personality was a beacon of joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He had an unwavering love for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Rays, Lightning and the University of Miami; he truly had a contagious enthusiasm for all sporting events. Michael was the life of ANY party, always ready to host friends and family, sharing his love of cooking and having a good time. He found solace in the serenity of the beach, often staying all day to watch the sun dip below the horizon. He relished any time spent on the water whether it be fishing or boating, he truly enjoyed nature’s beauty. You may have even found him testing out his green thumb in the garden or traveling via Cruise to a gorgeous destination.

Michael Timothy Deetz will be remembered not only for his dynamic personality and quick wit but also for his deep love for his family and undying love for his wife. His laughter, kindness, and zest for life touched everyone around him, leaving an indelible mark on all our hearts.
