Elaine “Laney” Ribeiro

Born to samba and summer days. The beats of the drums and tambourines were the beats of her heart.  

Elaine Ribeiro, 47, of Rio de Janeiro Brazil, died in St. Petersburg on December 03, 2023. 

She was born in Rio de Janeiro Brazil in 1976 to Grimalde Andrade and Jose Carlos Ribeiro. Elaine attended Weymouth High School in Massachusetts where she graduated before studying to become a Paralegal at Strayer University in Tampa and St. Petersburg College in Clearwater, FL. 

Her nurturing spirit, unwavering support, and boundless love will forever live on in the hearts of her children, family, and friends. 

Elaine was preceded in death by her daughter Jocelyn Kayla, her father, and her four brothers.  

She is survived by her mother Grimalde, her children Paul Junior (PJ), Jacquelyn Amary, and John Thomas (JT), her sister Elly and Chris Filho, her 3 nephews and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Everyone who knew Elaine knew how much she loved a good samba, mango margaritas, and good food.

She will always be remembered for her loyalty and true friendship.  We couldn’t have asked for a better daughter, sister, parent, aunt, and friend, and will miss Elaine every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.

A Memorial service will be held at Taylor Funeral Home on December 16, 2023, 12:30pm, followed by interment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
