Rita Quirk

Rita Ann Quirk  Oct 10, 1923 - May 20, 2021

The Lord stretched out His Hand, lovingly and peacefully, calling Rita Ann Quirk home to her eternal  home on Thursday, May 20, 2021, in Pinellas Park, Florida. Rita passed serenely in the city of her winter home and will be buried next to her Marine Corp veteran husband, John Lawrence, at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.

Rita worked as a secretary at the Vocational Development Center for the Handicapped in Akron, Ohio, the Guidance Counselors’ Office at Barberton High School, and numerous elementary schools in the Barberton area. She was a kind, caring, personable co-worker to all those with whom she worked.  Her friends knew her as thoughtful, sweet, funny, and engaging.

Rita is survived by her five children: John (Sharon), Becky (Jerry) Crabtree, Susan Randall, Judy Askew, and Kevin (Annette). She leaves a rich legacy and will be forever loved and missed by her 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Richard and Patrick; her sister Dorothy (George) Vrabel; son-in-law Kenneth Harvey and grandchildren Brian & Jedidiah Harvey. She was admired by her 8 nieces and nephews.

For 97 years, Rita lived a life of deep faith, close family, and lasting friendships to many.
