Richard Charles Grimmette, 71, from Tierra Verde, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2018 at the Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was born on February 24, 1947 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to parents, Frank Grimmette and Irene (Parks) Grimmette. In early life, he was in the army and was honorably discharged in 1972. He went on to become a professor in biology at the Waubonsee Community College and at Muskegon Community College. Later in life, he established and operated several successful oil companies over the years in different states. He retired to Florida after more than thirty years in the oil business. He was an avid hunter, who enjoyed traveling to many parts of the world to do so.
Richard is survived by his wife, Natalie; his is three children: Mark (Keela) Grimmette, Karrie (Shane) Childs, and Richard Grimmette and five grandchildren, Hannah, Maya, Leona, Finn, and Aurora. He is also survived by three brothers, Robert (Deb) Grimmette, Ronald (Sherri) Grimmette, and Scott Grimmette.
A private family service will be held at a later time.
