Keith Wayne Grisham, 71, of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018 in his home; he had been in deteriorating health for several years. He was born on August 3rd, 1947, in Harrisonburg, Virginia, son of the late Ike C and Ethel Canfield Grisham. He graduated from Broadway High School in 1965 and attended Blue Ridge Community College in Virginia.
Keith began his carreer as an apprentice draftsman at Space Conditioning in Harrisonburg, VA; he afterwards was a draftsman for Cardwell Machine Company in Richmond, VA and Global Technology Systems in St. Petersburg, FL. A skilled draftsman engineer, he initially preferred manual drafting to computers, saying he could draw more quickly by hand.
He enjoyed repairing clocks and watches; and in his younger years restored antique automobiles, including a 1941 Chevrolet, a 1953 Studebaker Hawk, and a 1928 Studebaker President. In later life he was fond of sewing beautiful decorative flags.
He is survived by his brother, Price Grisham of Salem, Massachusetts; his sister, Nina Grisham Gross of Waynesboro, Virginia and her husband Lowell; his aunt, Katie Crawford of Paducah, KY; two nephews, Wesley Gross of Waynesboro and Joshua Gross and his wife Jessica of Lubbock Texas; two grand nieces; and several cousins.
He will be interred at Woodbine Cemetery in Harrisonburg, Virginia. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 2nd, at 3 pm at the Mt Tabor United Methodist Church in Lacey Spring, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bayfront Hospital of St. Petersburg, Florida. Condolences may be sent to the family at 1816 N Talbott Place, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
