Johnny Maslak

John Joseph Maslak, 64, of Clearwater, formerly of Syracuse New York, passed away on December 15, 2019 peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with lung disease. He was born in Syracuse and came to Clearwater in 2015. He worked at Clinton’s Ditch for 20 years before working at Sysco Food for 12 years. A member of St John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Johnny was an avid bowler and loved all sports but especially baseball and hockey. He also enjoyed fishing, but mostly because he loved the sun. He is survived by his loving wife, Lori, who he was with for 20 years; son John (Lindsay) of Syracuse; daughter Michelle (Eric) Jackson of Syracuse; brother Mike of North Syracuse; sister Julie (Roy) Patchett and 17 grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his parents, John and Helen Maslak, and his sister Joyce Barry.

Calling hours will be at Taylor Funeral Home, 5300 Park Blvd, Pinellas Park on Thursday, December 19th, from 5:00 to 6:30 pm with a Catholic Prayer Service beginning at 6:30.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in memory of John Maslak to the Lung Transplant Foundation.

Our condolences to you Lori, and all John’s family during this time of sadness. Although we didn’t meet John until he became our neighbor at Embassy Park, he always made us feel we were long-lost friends, and welcomed us into his heart. We will miss him, not only as a neighbor, but as a friend.
