Jim Tanner

James Edmond “Jim” Tanner, of Pinellas Park, passed away peacefully in Clearwater, Florida, on May 22, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. Jim was born in Duluth, Georgia, to Jimmy Ray and Frankie Jeanine Tanner. Spending most of his early life traveling between Georgia and Florida, Jim eventually joined the United States Army to serve his country. This decision forever changing his life, as he met his beautiful loving wife Sibylle, while being station in Germany. Jim was honorably discharged from the Army, and moved back to Florida with his new family, where he eventually decided to grow some roots in Pinellas Park and not move or travel far from home anymore. He was very proud of his 2 sons Jimmy and Jeffrey and their accomplishments. Jim had a very successful career working in the Telecommunications industry for over 25 years. He received a Certificate of Appreciation from the members of the White House Communications Agency for providing critical communications for the President of the United States, the White House Staff, and the United States Secret Service during his visit to St. Petersburg Beach, Florida. Jim was a loving husband, father, brother and son. He was always a joy to be around and often times the center of attention, usually bringing laughter to others in numerous silly ways.

Jim is survived by his mother Frankie Jeanine Tanner, his brother Benny Tanner, his wife Sibylle Tanner, his sons Jimmy Tanner and Jeffrey Tanner, his daughter-in-law Jessica Tanner, his grandsons John and Jack Tanner, his nephew Benny Carl Tanner, his mother-in law Akrivoula Schneider, Carmen Wilking, David Wilking, his sister-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, Claar Family, Kelsesky Family, Richter Family and Friends.

Funeral Service: at Taylor Funeral Home on Friday May 28th with Visitation at 11:00 am prior to Service at 12:00 pm with Pastor Paul from Community Bible Baptist Church, officiating.
