Guy “Hap” Sullivan

Sullivan, Guy T. (Hap), 79, of Pinellas Park, passed on Thursday, June 28, 2018 after a long illness. He was born in Floral Park, NY and came to St. Petersburg as a young boy. He attended Mt. Vernon, Disston, and graduated Boca Ciega in 1957.

He spent many years in little league and continued with the City of St. Petersburg, playing third base. Hap was a master tile setter and pool finisher, an avid fisherman, and storyteller known for making his friends laugh until they cried.

Hap was predeceased by his parents, Guy L. and Marie N. Sullivan, and brother, John. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Janet E. Thomson Sullivan, three daughters, Janet M. (Shawn) Lowry, Lori Sullivan, Ginny Sullivan, and son Guy T. Sullivan, Jr; granddaughter Jade Alexandria Sullivan, sisters, Grace McRoberts, Lauretta Acker, and many nieces and nephews.

It was his preference that no formal service be held, but rather a gathering of family and friends to swap stories and share memories. He wanted to be remembered with laughter and no tears. He said, “He had a good ride”. Please contact a family member for details. “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal”- Anonymous.

He is entrusted into the care of Taylor Family Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
