Ed Goudy, Sr.

Edward Charles Goudy, Sr., passed away on August 11, 2021, at the Hospice Brookside Care Center in Palm Harbor, FL. He was born in Philadelphia, PA. in the year of 1922, being one of 4 siblings born to Janet and LeRoy Goudy. He served in the U S Navy during WWII and participated in the battle of Iwo Jima. After the war he married EDNA G. KRUGER of Philadelphia and they had a love story that lasted 74 years! They had two sons, Edward Jr. of Kennett Square, PA. and Robert Paul of the Villages, FL. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Douglas, Jennifer, Matthew, and Gregory along with 5 great grandchildren, Alexandra, Aidan, Madeline, Isabelle and Warren.

Through the course of his life, he worked at numerous shipyards in the Philadelphia area,  construction in international locations and DuPont Research and Construction as a Certified Welder. He retired from Dupont in 1981 and moved to Florida with his lifelong love and made their residence in the Mainlands of Pinellas Park. He was very mechanically inclined and always had a solution to a mechanical problem. He enjoyed playing cards, socializing, taking cruises and traveling to visit family and friends. He enjoyed his years living in the Mainlands and dining out weekly with community friends. He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins during his life. He also liked sitting at his desk reading the newspaper while having his morning coffee and watching the birds and golfers behind his home.

Ed was caring, generous and helpful to others and will be missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends' memories!

It is his desire as a final resting place to be with his wife at her place of desire being together forever in the area of their birth and meeting, Philadelphia, PA. A private Family Service will take place at Graveside at a future date.

Please express any condolences on the TAYLOR Funeral Home website or on the "Mainlands" facebook .

In lieu of flowers the family suggest making a Tribute Donation in memory of him to the "Alzheimer's Association at the website,  http://act.alz.org/donate  or by a mailing to Alzheimer's Association, PO BOX # 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.

My grandfather was full of jokes and good humor. He had so many stories about his life, work, family and gave great advice. We will miss our visits to their house in Florida. We are very thankful to have had our kids spend time with their great grandfather and have some great memories and pictures of 4 generations is a tremendous honor. We will all miss you dearly and remember you forever.
