Dennis Pearson

Dennis Gene Pearson, 74 of Pinellas Park passed away Wednesday January 6, 2021 after complications and a hard fight from cancer.  He was born in Louisville, Kentucky to Gene Louis and Blanche (Jacobs) Pearson who preceded him in death.  He moved the wife and kids to St Petersburg in October 1979 to be closer to his favorite and only brother Terry. In 1982 he came to Pinellas Park and liked it well enough to never want to leave.

He was a man who loved his cars and trucks in so many ways.  If he wasn't showing them at the car shows all over the USA, he was doing his specialty of paint and body work.  Later on it was restoring, rebuilding, buying, selling cars/trucks and their parts. He had nearly 60 years of knowledge that went with all those cars from his 1st Chevy Nova to the el Camino, aka Magic Dragon show truck in its 3 incarnations, his favorite year being his 1967 Chevy Malibu, the endless Chevy Corvette Stingrays not to mention all the vast number of pre-1972 Chevy trucks he was known for the last several years.  In later years he found a desire to dance and made many friends there as well.  He enjoyed entering dance competitions around the Tampa Bay area and other parts of Florida.  He always gave his all no matter what he did and a bit of a perfectionist that the only way to do things was to do it right the first time then you would not have to do it again.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Bernadene and a daughter, Zandra and a son, Sean.  Also three grandsons, Bricklin, Ashton and Sebastian, all of Pinellas Park.  His brother, Terry (Marilee), two nephews, Jonathan and Alex and a niece, Erin, all of Roswell, GA.

Visitation: at Taylor Funeral Home on Tuesday January 12th from 6 to 8 pm.

Service: at Taylor Funeral Home on Wednesday January 13th at 11:00 am.

Interment: to follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Dennis always impressed me with his gentlemanly ways and big smile. He was very kind, gentle and attentive. Dennis showed he was a dedicated family man. He treasured his beautiful wife, Bernadine and beamed in gratefulness of the home that she made for their family. Dennis’s eyes showed with pride when he spoke of his daughter, Xandra. I could tell how content Dennis was with his full life and family when he spoke of his son, Sean and the fabulous grandsons. He often brought the boys along with him to dances allowing us to know his family and see some… Read more »

My husband, Bob Dohren, was friends with you and Dennis for 30 plus years. During his illness you and Dennis visited him frequently and he enjoyed seeing you all so much. Bob always would tell me how organized Dennis was with his tools and how he would pickup, clean and put away the tools Bob would use. I will be forever grateful for how good you both were to him during those 4 long months. I am so very sorry for your loss.

I am sending you hugs Bernadine and deep sorrow for losing your Dennis. Such great memories of your sweet children, our movie nights eating Wendys while waiting for movie to start, & our beautiful Chevy truck that Dennis did a frame off for us. It’s up in N. FL now. I gave it to Michel when Hal died. Call if you need anything or just to talk. Much Love💕Dee
