David Howard Way, age 82, of Largo, passed away Friday August 14, 2020 at Suncoast Hospice Community Service Center. David was born on February 24, 1938 in Fullerton, Pennsylvania. He attended Whitehall High School and was an outstanding athlete and a star football player. He was given a full scholarship to the College of William and Mary. He was an integral part of their football team. He made wonderful friends during his four years at the College of William and Mary. In 1968, David moved to Florida. He worked for the Florida Department of Transportation for 20 years. This is where he met his wife, Jeanne, in 1976. He later worked as a Senior Right of Way Agent for ICF/Kaiser Engineers, Gulf Coast Property Acquisition, OR Colan, and Florida Acquisition & Appraisal.
He was a kind and good man. He was playful and sarcastic at times. He was serious and hard working at other times. He was truly loved by his wife, daughter, and all that knew him. He will be so missed. He believed in Jesus and we can know we will see him again.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jeanne (nee Miller) Way and his daughter Jennifer Suzanne Way of Largo, Florida, by nephews Samuel MacAdam of White Haven, Pennsylvania and David MacAdam of Newport News, Virginia, and niece Beth (nee MacAdam) Esa of White Haven, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Janice (nee Way) MacAdam and his parents, Ralph Douglass Way and Dorothy (nee Betts) Way.
