Bill Holmes

William A. “Bill” Holmes, 76, of Pinellas Park, passed away October 13, 2021. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Harold and Amelia (Thomas) Holmes. Bill was a US Army veteran of the Viet Nan War and he  began his law enforcement career as a Police Officer in St. Louis before joining the Pinellas Park Police Department, from where he retired after 30 years of service. He was well known for his involvement combating domestic violence and the countless hours spent helping at CASA in St. Petersburg & The Haven in Clearwater. Bill was also a member of the Board of Adjustment for the City of Pinellas Park.

 

He is survived by his son, Brian and Brian’s mother, Lynn; sisters, Karen & Sharon; brother, Harold O., Sr.; several nieces & nephews, and many friends & associates.

A private family service will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery.

Bill was a friend, colleague to me and supporter of Peace in our community. Working with him was always rewarding. His loving and gentle spirit was always a blessing. I will miss you, Bill.

Thank you so much for mentioning his latest wife and he’s beloved dog Cody and Marie. Saw him take his last breath on that day !
