Bertha Lavoie

Bertha Lavoie, of St. Petersburg left us on January 31, 2021. She was born August 2, 1937 in Fall River, Massachusetts to Edward and Bernadette (Shank) Lavoie. She was predeceased by her sister Lorraine Levesque and niece Leona Perez.

Bertha is survived by her partner of 22 years, Joanne Champagne and her nieces, Modesta Levesque and Beth Silvia; her great nieces Melanie DiMascolo, Leslie Gouveia, Amy Ferreira, Traci Cornett, Mackenzie Palumbo, Karan Banas and great nephews Scott & Travis DeGrandi

She was a lover of life, people and having a good time. Rest assured the next time you have a lobster, clamboil or fireball, you are safe because she will not be here to ask you to share it or talk you out of yours.  She was always ready with a helping hand, comment or friendly advice. She had the roar of a lion but a personality like a lamb. She will be sorely missed by many. May she rest in peace and the happiness she shared with us in life. You knew when you were in her presence, they didn’t call her “Queen Bea” for nothing.

So very sorry to hear about this ! Bert you are loved by so many & I can’t imagine seeing Joanne without you by her side ! There should be a star or halo placed at the clubhouse there at Village Green with your name on it ! You will always be remembered by so many fondly ! You are loved by all who met you & LOVED being in your company. Heaven got another beautiful angel in you ! God Bless & RIP xoxo

Such a lovely lady. I will always remember our pool and indoor parties at Village Green. I know I gave her a few fire ball shots and shared them as well. Lol. I will miss her as I’m sure everyone here at the VG will as well. Until we meet again Queen Bea RIP Bea! 💗

I always enjoyed seeing Bea and her Village Green friends come to Bon Secours to attend Mass on Sundays. They had ‘reserved seats’. We had some wonderful conversations. I truly will miss her presence when we get back to having services on Sundays. May this ‘angel’ keep watch over us!
