Renee Ann Smith, 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on November 15, 2021 at the Bay Pines V.A. Medical Center in Bay Pines, Florida. Renee was born on March 29, 1951 in Atlanta, Georgia to William & Jean (Striplin) Slade and had resided in St. Petersburg for the past 20 years. Renee was a proud Vietnam War era US Army veteran where she served as a medic in Germany. Renee loved to build model ships, listen to rock & roll music and go fishing. She was an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan, and a loyal Tampa Bay Rays fan. She also attended Florida State University and was a proud Seminole’s fan. Renee loved to travel, enjoying trips to Mexico, Australia, Thailand and New Zealand. Renee was preceded in death by her parents, William E. Slade and Jean Striplin. Renee is survived by loving spouse and partner of 7 years, Josephina Allison Jones.
